Famed for its sponsored fundraisers, for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a particular type of fundraising is not only a key part of their efforts to raise much-needed cash for the childhood cancer charity, but it’s also partly the reason behind the name of the organization itself. Businessman, licensed security contractor, and philanthropist Abraham Kiswani explains more as he reveals his ongoing support for the foundation.

Known for its head-shaving events, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s name is a nod to fundraisers giving up their hair in support of the organization. “‘St. Baldrick’s’ is,” Kiswani explains, “in fact, a portmanteau or combination of the words ‘bald’ and ‘St. Patrick’s,’ the latter part coming from the fact that the charity’s first ever head-shaving event took place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, around two decades ago now.”

Widely recognized for his philanthropic nature, Abraham Kiswani is an avid and long-standing supporter of St. Baldrick’s, with himself and his company having donated annually to the charitable organization since 2012. It’s estimated that Kiswani and his business have now contributed more than $35,000 to the childhood cancer foundation in recent years. “St. Baldrick’s is an incredible organization,” adds the certified security sector professional, businessman, and philanthropist, “and well worthy of all that we can give.”

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer and donor powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

Kiswani is also a keen supporter of a wide range of other good causes, charities, and nonprofit organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, and the Chicago-based Tuskegee NEXT project, to which he has also recently donated incredible totals of around $15,000, $20,000, and $10,000 respectively.

A graduate of Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Illinois, Abraham Kiswani is today based in nearby Burbank, around 15 miles southwest of Chicago. Outside of his work and charitable efforts, Kiswani’s personal interests include skydiving, bungee jumping, and antique muscle cars, as well as cooking, movie memorabilia collecting, sailing, scuba diving, and softball.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, IRS identification number 20-1173824. To find out more, or to make a donation, head to https://www.stbaldricks.org/.
